The product is Babul (babul.dev)

Context

"Trunk" was a working name. The owner chose Babul — the acacia tree — and a logo of a tree whose branches are git branches, each a different colour.

Decision

• The product, the packages (@babul/*), the CLI (babul), the MCP server (babul-mcp), the project file (babul.json) and the environment variables (BABUL_*) are Babul. The site is babul.dev.
• The logo is designs/brand/mark.svg (option A of the candidates, which were deleted on 2026-10-23).
• Kept as they are for now, because they name real infrastructure: the database names and roles (trunk, trunk_app, trunk_worker), the Vercel project trunk-staging, the GitHub repo ritvi-apps/trunk and the folder ~/git/products/trunk. Each is renamed on its own, with the owner.

Consequences

• Decision records before this one keep the old name; they are history.
