Web UI rules

Choice:

  • Charts, numbers and the dense layout are the product (what-we-sell). A simplify pass may cut steps and copy, never a chart, a figure or a flow. Every user-facing pillar answers a question with a chart. Admin and CA-portal charts wait for a design (FEAT-0016).
  • The AY selector is on Tax only (default: the current AY). Expense and Portfolio use a range selector (1M · 3M · 6M · 1Y · Custom, default 1Y).
  • Upload and upgrade open global modals in place; nothing redirects to /inbox or /upgrade.
  • Locked and empty pillars use the rich blurred preview that Portfolio uses.
  • Nav: Dashboard, the four pillars, Hire a CA, plus Ask on AI plans. Family is a workspace, not a nav item.
  • Onboarding has two counted steps: Consent with personal details, then Plan.
  • Wireframes use the class strings in designs/*/patterns/components.html. Light mode is derived from the dark wireframes and is not yet design-reviewed.
  • Portfolio gives no advice: no recommendations or trade nudges, observations from the user's own data only, the SEBI disclaimer on every page. The three observation panels stack in the sticky aside and rank by rupees, not percent.

Rejected: the 2026-06-12 minimal locked cards (lost the preview that sells) · removing charts to simplify (reverted 2026-10-09) · AY pivots on Expense and Portfolio · fund or stock recommendations (SEBI advisor territory).
