Decision

Imposter is rebuilt as 2.0 from a new design set, a new schema and an empty src/app. The 1.x screens, stores, schema and wiki pages were deleted on 2026-10-11 rather than migrated.

Decided the same day:

• A new look: light by default with a dark remap, violet for actions, yellow for money, blue and pink for the two roles.
• The app takes the vote and keeps a score. 1.x did neither.
• A level per pack: easy, medium, hard.
• History: tables are kept so the next game with them is one tap.
• Online rooms on Firebase, played in typed clues and a secret vote.
• No chat in V1.
• A Cloud Function deals, so no phone holds another player's word.
• Online is a subscription paid by the host only; Pro stays one payment.
• The paywall is shown once in onboarding, with a way past it.

Why

• The 1.x flow had no way out of a round and a pass-on button that vanished; the owner judged the look, the flow and the purchase path all wrong.
• Chat is user content: it needs a filter, reporting and blocking before a store will take it, and it is the costliest part to build. Two clue rounds carry the game without it.
• The old accent was green and the new accent is yellow, so the palettes could not live side by side. Moving everything at once was cheaper than a half-migrated app.
• This is an MVP. Carrying 1.x code that the new flow does not use costs more than rewriting the little that is still wanted.

Impact

• There is no migration. A 1.x install starts 2.0 with an empty history; a Pro purchase carries over through the store.
• "No subscription. No ads. Ever." is no longer true and leaves every surface: the listing, the marketing context and the store subtitle still say it and must change before 2.0 ships.
• Store screenshots cannot be captured from main until the flows are rewritten.
• check:designs fails against the app until the screens exist.

Status

Canonical. The schema in src/types/index.ts is proposed and awaits review.
