Host on Vercel

Decision

Both the server and the website deploy to Vercel.

Why

The roadmap records it as task 5.9 of FEAT-0005, "Hosting target — Vercel (decision recorded)". No container is built; task 5.1 was skipped for the same reason. The date is the roadmap's audit date, the earliest the decision is written down.

Impact

• The NestJS server runs as one serverless function.
• A function's disk is empty on a cold start, which is at odds with course-as-code: the clone the lessons are read from is gone. Task 5.10 of FEAT-0005 is the bridge.
• Migrations are not applied by the build. See the production-migration runbook.
