Why it is drawn this way

The words are changed where they are read (owner, 2026-10-19). Before, only text drawn in Trunk could be retyped; a heading from the real product could not. Now a double-click on any element with words turns them into a caret in the page, and the inspector's Text field follows what is typed. A label over the frame, never inside the product's page, says how to finish.

One change per element: saving writes the element's text into the draft, like any other property, so Review lists it and ⌘Z undoes it.

How it is kept. The new words are a change to the element like any other (text, beside the style properties, never in the stylesheet): the render lays them on the markup itself (withTextEdits in @trunk/render), as text, so nothing typed can become an element. The element's own words change; an icon or a child it holds stays. On a component's canvas any words are typed in place too, captured or drawn (owner, 2026-10-19): a captured part's words are the variant's, kept from the variant's root, and show on every use of it on every page; an edit to the element on a page still wins there. In the Pages inspector, the Text field follows the reach picked — this element, or every use.
