Summary

In Edit, ⌘G puts what is picked in a group, as Figma does; ⇧⌘G takes the group apart. ⇧⌘L locks a layer so it cannot be picked or moved on the canvas.

Why it is drawn this way

A group is a box round what it holds. It has no fill and does not clip; its size follows what is in it, so W and H are shown, not typed. It moves, nudges, copies and deletes as one. In Layers it is a row with the group icon that folds, named "Group 1" until it is renamed. A click on the canvas picks the group; a double-click, or ⌘-click, picks what is inside it, and Esc goes back up to the group.

The inspector says so. The group's name in the header, Place with X and Y, Opacity, and Ungroup (⇧⌘G) beside Delete.

Lock. The padlock shows on a row on hover; a locked layer keeps it shown. A locked element is drawn as it is but cannot be picked, dragged or caught by a box on the canvas; it can still be picked from Layers to change its style or unlock it.

No schema change. A group is a drawn frame marked as a group, with no fill and no clip, whose box is kept to what it holds; a lock is a property in the draft, as hiding is.
