CONCEPT.DASHBOARD-PILLAR

Dashboard pillar

Summary

Dashboard is a read-only aggregator — a fixed-order roll-up of the four pillars, keyed by workspace context, with every CTA linking out to a pillar surface. Nothing is authored here.

Why it matters

Dashboard is the first screen a user sees on every visit. If it drifts from the wireframe, every downstream mental model breaks — an LLM asked "what's on the dashboard?" will invent charts (a tax-readiness ring, a lone net-worth trendline) that don't exist, and code will be written against a phantom layout. The wireframe locks a specific hero (four KPI cards, not sparklines) and a specific chart set (tax journey / cashflow / portfolio-vs-Nifty). Holding that line is what keeps the workspace-switcher, upsell rail, and empty-state gates coherent.

Implications

  • Section order is fixed. KPI row (4 cards) → two-chart row (Tax journey · Cashflow 12M) → Portfolio-vs-Nifty chart → right rail (3 cards).
  • KPI row is the hero, not a chart. Four cards in fixed order: Inbox · Tax · Expense · Net worth. No sparklines, no ring, no single trendline.
  • Three canonical charts, no others. Tax journey (5-AY dual line — income + tax), Cashflow 12M (stacked bars Expense/Invested/Saving + Income line), Portfolio-vs-Nifty (invested/gain/loss bars + Your value + Nifty hypo dashed) — with the auto-computed callout "You deployed ₹X; realised ₹Y. Nifty 50 returned +Z%; your return +W% → +N.Npp (₹M ahead of Nifty)".
  • Right rail is 3 cards in fixed order. (a) Family-upgrade card (Self tier) or Members list (Family); (b) Return readiness — checklist of documents to review with per-item minute estimates (no ring); (c) Goals · funding pace with unmapped-holdings amber callout.
  • Read-only. Every CTA (Upload documents →, Open Expense →, Map →, Upgrade to Pro Family →) links out to a pillar surface or the global upload-modal. No mutation surface on Dashboard.
  • Workspace context is a copy contract, not a data-model change. Self → Family flips prefixes (Household refund, Household burn, Household NAV) and adds per-member slices; the underlying section order and chart set are identical across Self / Family-combined / Family-member.
  • Combined views are computed live per-member and never duplicated. Tax stays per-PAN. (Verbatim from dashboard-workspace-switcher.)
  • Accent color contract: emerald = personal Self, blue = household/combined, purple = per-member (viewer).
  • Avatar dropdown is the workspace switcher. Only fast switch entry point; order is current-workspace ✓ → combined household → per-member → + Invite a family member.
  • Persistent header indicator: "Viewing as <name> · <scope>" on every dashboard variant.
  • Empty-state gating is per chart. Tax journey needs one filed AY; Cashflow needs ≥ 2 bank statements; Portfolio-vs-Nifty needs a parsed broker P&L. Empty state renders the full skeleton with dashed borders and em-dash values — never a blank canvas.
  • Notifications live at /notifications. Bell + unread count is a header element on every dashboard variant. See dashboard-notifications.
