DECISION.2026-06-14.REFUND-WINDOW-14-DAYSRefund window extended from 24h to 14 days (from unlock)
Decision
The refund window for an AY unlock is 14 days from unlock, OR until the first CA-handoff PDF export — whichever comes first. The "OR until first CA-handoff PDF export" gate is preserved.
Why
24 hours is too short for a once-a-year tax product — most users won't have time to validate the unlocked review against their own records and compare regimes that fast. 14 days is the SaaS norm and gives a salaried filer a real chance to test the numbers before committing. The "OR until first CA-handoff PDF export" gate is preserved — material use still consumes the window.
Impact
- .context/wiki/concepts/* hard constraint updated (line 45).
- .context/wiki/entities/* canonical entry (line 31) + copy strings — pitch + timer format — updated.
- Wireframe sweep: every "24h window" / "24-hour" / "24h refund" / "Refundable for 24 hours" / refund-window timer string across web + mobile wireframes replaced with the 14-day form. Account-deletion 24h grace + payment-recon 24h SLA + refund-amount labels left untouched (separate concerns).
- Backend
subscription/refund.tswindow check needs to flip from 24h to 14d (follow-up code change — wireframes only this PR). - Refines the refund-window portion of 2026-06-24-sync-check-catalog-drift (the 24h refund unification recorded there).
- Affects pricing-upgrade-topups (refund rules) and copy-strings (refund pitch + timer strings).
Status
Active.
