DECISION.2026-06-24.FAMILY-INVITE-LANDINGFamily invite flow uses Sign Up / Sign In landing, not a magic link at accept time
Decision
When a user clicks a family invite link, they see a Sign Up / Sign In landing showing who invited them — no magic link, no password-set step at invite-accept time.
Why
Removes complexity of a separate password-set step. Invite link is a routing signal, not an auth mechanism.
Impact
- When a user clicks a family invite link, they see who invited them and can either create a new Chitragupt account or sign in to an existing one.
- After auth, they are automatically added to the household.
- No password field at invite-accept time.
- .context/wiki/surfaces/* row updated from "Magic link accept" to "Family invite landing".
- Affects tier-pro-family (the family workspace tier).
Status
Active.
