DECISION.2026-08-19.MOBILE-SDK-57-AND-SCREEN-COMPLETIONMobile application completion
Decision
Upgrade the Expo mobile app to SDK 57 and complete the remaining user-facing Expense and Portfolio drill-in screens as read-only, data-backed surfaces.
Why
The mobile app was paused after the web-first V1 scope, but the current request is to resume it. Expo SDK 57 is the current supported SDK and the existing app had a mixed SDK 56/55 dependency set. The UX reference and product rules require Expense and Portfolio to remain review-only: no budgets, trade recommendations, or trade execution.
Impact
apps/mobilenow uses Expo SDK 57, React Native 0.86.2, React 19.2.3, and SDK-compatible Expo packages.- Standard mobile support is present for icons, fonts, images, haptics, clipboard, device checks, gestures, animations, virtualized lists, charts, SQLite, and web export.
- Expense drill-ins show statement-derived anomalies and recurring charges; the Budget route explains the read-only boundary.
- Portfolio drill-ins show server-backed goal totals, calculated LTCG headroom, and actual sector exposure without inventing advice.
- pillar-expense and pillar-portfolio remain the product source of truth for review-only behavior; read-only-review continues to forbid manual financial actions.
