FLOW.NEW-USER-TO-DASHBOARDFlow — New user → empty dashboard (free tier)
Summary
A prospective user arrives at chitragupt.ai, signs up, completes the 2-step onboarding, sees one optional interstitial nudge to connect a broker, and lands on an empty dashboard on the tier-free tier.
Audience
end-user
Entry
Organic or marketing visit to chitragupt.ai.
Steps
| # | Step | Surface | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Landing | marketing-landing | Hero + pricing + FAQ |
| 2 | CTA → Sign up | auth-sign-up | Email (OTP) or Google |
| 3 | Verify email | auth-verify-email | Enter 6-digit OTP; auto-redirects to onboarding step 1 |
| 4 | Account (consent + personal) | onboarding-consent | DPDP consents + name, PAN, DOB, residential status — combined screen |
| 5 | Select plan and pay | onboarding-plan | "Pay ₹249 (Self) to unlock engine" or "Skip · free Inbox" |
| 6 | Connect a broker (optional) | onboarding-connect-broker | Not numbered as "Step 3" — a one-time, skippable interstitial after step 5, not a core onboarding step. Reuses the same broker cards as settings-linked-brokers. Added per 2026-09-01-onboarding-broker-nudge, extending 2026-09-01-broker-connect-own-phase. |
Exit
Signed-in user on an empty dashboard, tier-free active, Inbox available.
Escapes
- Skip pay (step 5): lands on step 6.
- Pay (step 5): Razorpay runs inline; on success, lands on step 6 on tier-self (or selected paid tier).
- Skip broker connect (step 6): lands on dashboard immediately — this step never blocks. Can connect a broker any time later from Settings.
- Connect a broker (step 6): OAuth-style redirect/callback, then lands on dashboard with the linked broker already syncing.
- Decline required DPDP consent (step 4): account closes; do not store non-consent beyond audit log.
- Abandon mid-onboarding: session persisted; resume from last completed step on next sign-in.
