Why it is drawn this way

Three roles: instructor, student, viewer. See roles. The role select and the badge beside it say the same thing twice; that is what the code renders.

Adding needs an account. "The user must already be registered on the platform." There is no invitation email.

The bin on your own row means Leave. The confirm wording changes; see confirm-dialogs.

The locked state is hard to reach. The guard has already turned away anyone who cannot manage the course. It shows only if the members query is refused after that.
