Purpose

What Scrvio is for, who it is for, and what it is not. From the repo's own pages.

What it is

A screen recorder in the browser, with a Chrome extension, a website and an API. A team records, shares and keeps its videos in storage it controls: Scrvio Cloud, its own S3 bucket on Team, or a local download (storage-providers). It answers PROB-0001: most recording tools keep your videos in their cloud.

Who it is for

Teams in regulated industries and GDPR-conscious companies in the EU, and anyone who wants a Loom alternative without giving up their data (marketing context). No buyer has been measured yet.

What it is not

• Not a Loom feature race (positioning).
• Not paid through Stripe: Polar sells it as merchant of record (payments).

Status

scrvio.com answers. Whether anyone pays is not known (PROB-0002). Production is stuck on an old deploy (PROB-0003, release.yml). Words used here: glossary.
