Summary

The design set in .context/designs/web/ was converted from a prototype, by script, on 2026-10-04. No screen was redrawn. This page says what the conversion did and what the static set no longer does.

Why it matters

The prototype could not be reviewed or checked. It was 60 thin HTML shells whose bodies were built at runtime by render scripts reading fixture tables. A reader saw a screen only by running it, and no check could read a link or a class out of a file. The style guide wants one static file per screen, so every page was rendered in a browser and its DOM written down.

Two tenants became screens and states. The prototype drew every page for whichever demo tenant was selected. Norrland, fully populated, is the screen. Kestrel, which has captured nothing, is the -empty state of each list surface and the -locked state of each settings page. See demo-tenants.

A view a script toggled is a view nobody drew. Tabs, the board view, node inspectors, the event drawer and the AI panel were swapped in by script. The default view is drawn. The rest are listed in routes.js under missing.

Implications

  • There is no app, so the set is the spec (STYLE-GUIDE §11). Nothing here is checked against code.
  • Colours are roles now. Every Tailwind hue class was mapped onto a token in shared.css. A translucent tint became the nearest of three washes, so a /15 and a /25 now paint the same.
  • Icons are lucide names. About 1,300 inline SVG icons became data-lucide names, picked by shape.
  • Drawings stayed inline SVG. Charts, sparklines, the journey and cost graphs and the illustrations carry data in their shape. Their geometry is still written out in each screen, not declared once as a component class.
  • Gradients and shadows became classes. Each arbitrary value with a colour in it is a numbered glow, tile, bar or lift class in shared.css.
  • Menus are CSS. The project, branch and account menus and the marketing Product and Solutions panels open on hover. They opened on click before.
  • Navigation a script performed is a link. Buttons that changed page from a click handler are anchors now, or the chart could not be walked.
  • The prototype is in git history. git show ba76058 --stat -- .context/ux.
