CONCEPT.SKIP-IS-NOT-A-WARNING

Summary

Skip is the game's third outcome and has its own colour. It is deliberately not warn.

Why it matters

A round ends in correct, skipped, or time-up. Skipping is a neutral move — it is how you get past a card nobody in the room has seen — and it is used constantly.

When skip shared a colour with warnings, players read it as a penalty and avoided it, which made rounds slower and worse. A colour that means "something is wrong" cannot also mean "this is a normal thing to do".

Implications

  • --skip / --skip-bg / --skip-fg exist as their own tokens rather than aliasing warn.
  • The score screen counts skips without framing them as losses.
  • Anything genuinely wrong — a failed purchase, a missing pack — uses danger, so the two never blur.
