Why it is drawn this way

Resume is the primary action when a game exists. A chess game is long. A player who was interrupted wants that game back, so it gets the filled button and New game drops to an outline. The current app has no resume at all: it keeps only the mode and the level.

The card shows the position, not a description of it. A thumbnail of the board says which game this is faster than any line of text. Whose move it is, the level and the clock sit beside it.

One New game button, not four mode cards. The current Home is four cards: Local Battle and three VS Computer levels. Colour and clock have nowhere to go on a card, so the choice moves to its own screen, setup-computer.

The empty state is the same screen without the card. home/home-empty.html is what a first launch sees, and what every launch sees after a game ends. New game becomes the filled button there, because it is the only way forward.

Privacy policy left Home. The app links it from Home. It now lives under settings, with the other things a player reads once.

The banner is pinned above the home indicator. See banner-ad.
